Lower Manhattan

Take the subway or make Lower Manhattan a stopover on your hop on/off bus tour. You can easily spend a whole day here, visiting the diverse neighbourhoods such as artsy Greenwich Village, hip Tribeca and Chinatown. It is also home to the city’s globally known Financial District, where the One World Trade Centre, America’s tallest building and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum can be found. Walk across the nearby Brooklyn Bridge, an engineering marvel and to Battery Park to get a view of the Statue of Liberty.

Non-stop entertainment includes Broadway shows, opera, ballet, jazz dance clubs and nightclubs and top name artists and sporting events at Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks basketball team and New York Rangers ice hockey team. Shopaholics will be in heaven in New York with the big department stores including Macy’s and Bloomingdales, which line famous Fifth Avenue. Shopping centres are dotted all over Manhattan housing big sport and designer brands, whilst there are an abundance of boutique and antique stores in the city’s diverse neighbourhoods. If you want to shop until you drop head to the outlet malls at Woodbury Common and The Mills at Jersey Gardens located outside of the city.
