Combining the old with the new, this American Victorian paddlewheel steamboat is the largest ever built. Completely refurbished with today’s modern amenities, the cabins display all the opulence of this bygone era. Glistening woodwork, fresh flowers and antiques adorn the interior spaces, a vast collection of reading material can be found in the Mark Twain Gallery in the boat’s library and you can tap your toe to a lavish show in the two-deck-tall Grand Saloon, the most elegant showplace on the river. Meals onboard are a delectable feast with award winning chefs selecting the best seasonal ingredients recreating traditional local recipes. Itinerary
Day 1 - Memphis, Tennessee
Arrive independently at the designated hotel and enjoy an overnight in this musical city. Overnight Memphis.
Day 2 - Memphis, Tennessee
A morning to enjoy Memphis before transferring to the American Queen cruise. Departure is at 5pm.
Day 3 - Greenville, Mississippi
Located on the banks of Lake Fergusson, Greenville is a short drive to Indianola, the birthplace of B.B. King and many other blues singers, so naturally Greenville has Blues integrated into its culture. Enjoy an included hop-on hop-off tour to explore.
Day 4 - Vicksburg, Mississippi
This southern town carries a history unlike any other Civil War city. Founded in 1811, it grew to be a vital river port city. A major component in the Civil War, it carries much of the history within the town and is a popular spot to learn about these historical events. An included hop-on hop-off tour gives you the opportunity to experience this famous town.
Day 5 - Natchez, Mississippi
This charming river town was founded in 1716, making it the oldest city on the Mississippi, known for its elegance, hospitality and impressive preservation of history. Enjoy an included hop-on hop-off tour here.
Day 6 - St Francisville, Louisiana
Established in 1809, this charming town has unique shops, historical homes, beautiful churches and breathtaking parks. Enjoy the included hop-on hop-off tour to explore.
Day 7 - Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana and has a deep culture and rich history. Locals speak a unique version of French as their everyday language. An included tour gives you the opportunity to explore.
Day 8 - Nottoway, Louisiana
Enjoy an included tour of Nottoway Plantation, the South’s largest remaining antebellum mansion. This stunning plantation lies between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Day 9 - New Orleans, Louisiana
You say goodbye to your cruise-ship home as you arrive into New Orleans at 08.00 – end of cruise.
