Cruise Route
Alaska Cruises depart from Seattle and travel up the Inside Passage, which is a 500-mile-long scenic waterway consisting of deep fjords, straits, and lush-green forested islands. Carved by glaciers millions of years ago, the passage stretches from Puget Sound (Washington, USA) in the south, up through the Pacific Coast of British Columbia, and reaches the Gulf of Alaska in the north.
It is the most popular Alaska cruise route because of the scenic views, amazing wildlife, and the fact that large vessels can safely sail relatively close to steep mountain ridges. A big portion of the Inside Passage is covered by the Tongass National Forest. These lands are home to Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian Alaska native peoples, as well as whales, bears and soaring eagles. You will get the chance to explore both Alaska's wilderness and heritage sites on your cruise holiday. Ships typically stop at Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka and Skagway but the ports of call vary per itinerary and Alaska cruise line.

Cruise Ship Rooms
Suites
There are different categories of suites but in general, these specious luxurious accommodations at sea feature separate sleeping and living areas, roomy private veranda and include a long list of extra amenities and complimentary services. Some cruise ship suites offer not one but two bedrooms, dedicated dining and living areas, outdoor whirlpool, espresso machine and more. Enjoy priority embarkation and disembarkation, bubbles on arrival, access to a VIP lounge, extra-luxurious bedding, complimentary laundry service, streaming Wi-Fi, and with some suites even an exclusive concierge service.
Veranda staterooms
Veranda staterooms are a wonderful choice on any cruise to Alaska. With floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading to your private balcony, you can wake up every morning to these breath taking ocean views. Verandas feature Queen or King-size beds and a separate sitting area, providing ample indoor space. Enjoy plush bathrobes and towers, premium bath products, smart TV, mini fridge, and other perks. Veranda staterooms’ features and amenities vary per cruise line so make sure you check with our experts prior to booking your Alaska cruise package.
Ocean view staterooms and inside cabins
Both inside and ocean view cruise ship rooms are cosy and offer ample living space. The main advantage of the ocean view staterooms, as their name suggests, is the expansive ocean view, which is a very important room feature, especially on a scenic Alaskan cruise. In both room types, you will get a host of amenities and a Queen- or King-size bed. Alaska cruise ships constantly upgrade their fleet and accommodation offerings. You will find a variety of cabins to choose from, such as standard and deluxe ocean views or inside cabins.

Life Onboard
Dining aboard the cruise ship
Dinner onboard your cruise ship can be as sophisticated or relaxed as you choose. Dress up to the nines in the elegant main dining room or keep things casual and dine on the deck. With dishes inspired by local flavours and a selection of international cuisine ranging from American grills to Asian fusion, the options are sure to satisfy, whatever your taste preferences. Pick a new restaurant each evening and tuck in.
Evening entertainment
When the sun goes down and you sail towards your next port of call, the entertainment onboard your ship warms up. From cocktails and nightlife to comfy movie theatres and musical shows, there is so much to choose from. Circus acts will wow you in the main theatre, while there’s everything to play for in the casino. BBC’s Frozen Planet live will open your eyes, while a trivia quiz will keep you on your toes. The options are endless, and all of them are world-class.
Spa & salon treatments
As you venture on your Alaska cruise journey to fascinating ports of call, you’ve got time to indulge in the amazing spa and wellness facilities onboard. A blissful massage or relaxing spa treatment is the perfect way to unwind, followed by a refreshing dip in the pool. Some cruise ship lines have taken their guests’ wellness even further by offering holistic mindful living programs. In addition, a great variety of salon treatments, such as facials, hair styling, manicures, and pedicures, will get you ballroom ready for yet another magical evening onboard.
