Head down to see the Hollywood ‘Walk of Fame’ where the imprints of celebrities decorate the walkway or spend time in Venice Beach or Santa Monica laying on the wide golden sandy beach or strolling along its famous pier. Window-shop at the exclusive neighbourhoods along famous Rodeo Drive for some retail therapy or visit Universal Studios Hollywood and the nearby theme parks - Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm.
Los Angeles to Las Vegas
A short flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and it’s time to hit the Las Vegas Strip where the entertainment never stops. Walk in and out of the gigantic and flamboyant themed hotels, from the dancing fountains of the Bellagio Hotel to the Venice canals at the Venetian Hotel, you cannot fail to be amazed. See live concerts and world-famous stage shows, dine in the incredible selection of restaurants, or take some time away from the bright lights on a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon.
Las Vegas to San Francisco
Another short flight back to the west coast to San Francisco. Make your way to your hotel from the airport either by BART train or taxi and start exploring straight away - there’s so much to see and do here. On the waterfront, see the noisy sea lions at Pier 39 and walk through the many shops and restaurants at Fisherman’s Wharf, or opt to take a short boat ride out to Alcatraz Island. You could also ride the cable cars and take a city tour that includes Lombard Street and its eight iconic hairpin bends. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge, relax at Golden Gate Park, visit the Museum of Modern Art and try the amazing food scene.
San Francisco to Seattle
Take the two-hour flight north to Seattle in Washington State for two days to explore before joining your Virgin Voyages cruise. You can enjoy panoramic views from the viewing platform of the Space Needle, one of the most recognisable landmarks in the USA where you can catch views of the city, Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. Visit the nearby Chihuly Gardens and Glass, showcasing the city's bright, colourful blooms and beautiful intricate sculptures. At Sea
A wonderful day lies ahead as your ship sails through the dramatic Inside Passage with ever changing coastal scenery as you sail past majestic mountain peaks, narrow fjords, dense evergreen forests, and glaciers. Sit out on deck with a glass of wine in hand and look out for wildlife including sea lions, bald eagles and humpback whales and orcas.
Ketchikan
Sail into the charming town of Ketchikan, a picturesque Alaskan fishing town nestled on the edge of the magnificent Tongass National Forest. On arrival into the bustling harbour, you'll be greeted by the sight of colourful fishing boats, floatplanes skimming the waters, and majestic bald eagles soaring overhead. Shore excursions available include venturing into the heart of the Tongass National Forest on a guided hiking tour or fishing enthusiasts can experience Alaska's renowned waters first-hand on dedicated fishing excursions. Cast your line in search of prized salmon, cod and rockfish while taking in the breath-taking coastal scenery.
Sitka
Next port of call is Sitka which is nestled between forested mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Sitka is one of Alaska’s most scenic and historic cruise destinations. Explore its charming waterfront, and keep an eye out for whales, sea otters and bald eagles along the coastline. Popular shore excursions include visits to Silver Bay Wildlife and Homestead, where you can experience Alaska’s natural beauty up close, and spot local wildlife including otters, whales and seabirds.
Tracy Arm Cruising
A relaxing day awaits as you experience the ship's fine facilities sailing around the waters of Tracy Arm Fjord, one of the world's most visually stunning fjords. Sail between soaring granite cliffs and cascading waterfalls as your ship navigates one of Alaska's most spectacular fjords. Watch for seals lounging on ice floes, bald eagles overhead, and sparkling blue icebergs drifting past. Conditions permitting, you'll enjoy views of the magnificent Sawyer Glaciers, where dramatic walls of ancient ice create a breath-taking backdrop to this remarkable wilderness adventure.
Prince Rupert
Located along the rugged British Columbia coast, Prince Rupert is your next port of call. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and dense green forests, the area has plenty of natural beauty. Get on shore and hire an e-bike and explore its colourful waterfront and popular restaurants, cafes and brewery. Or learn about its indigenous culture at the Museum of Northern British Columbia.
Cruising to Seattle
Cruise back to Seattle and when not gazing out to sea, enjoy the excellent onboard facilities. For gym fans head to the running track, and the state-of-the-art gym or relax in the luxury spa or by the outdoor swimming pool. As the sun starts to set enjoy a cocktail or beer in one of the seven bars and then soak up the exciting atmosphere at one of the Broadway theatre productions.
Homeward Bound
Arrive back into Seattle this morning and disembark your cruise. Spend some time exploring Seattle further or perhaps head to the airport early to visit the nearby Museum of Flight, which houses over 150 aircraft.
