Day 1-3
Arrive in Chicago
Make your way to your hotel by Metro or taxi and spend the rest of the day exploring the city. Chicago is an easy city to get around, so make the most of the sightseeing possibilities. Book an architecture cruise tour on the Chicago River and learn about the events that built this great city. Take some time to enjoy the stunning views of the city from up-high at the Skydeck Chicago, Willis Tower and the 360-degree Chicago Experience. Explore Grant Park with its numerous iconic landmarks and attractions and take a stroll down Navy Pier, which runs onto the waterfront at Lake Michigan. If you’d like to add some time for shopping, head to Magnificent Mile for your choice of flagship stores and restaurants.
Day 4
Amtrak to Memphis
Spend some more time exploring Chicago before boarding your overnight train to Memphis in a bedroom accommodation. The journey takes you through the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee, where you stop and alight at Memphis.
Day 5-7
Memphis
Memphis is home to Graceland, Elvis Presley’s iconic mansion, and you can truly immerse yourself in the life of this music great. Also, why not have a look at a few of his favourite playthings at the Automobile Museum? Another “to do” is a tour of Sun Studio, nicknamed the “birthplace of Rock ’n’ Roll”. You could also enjoy afternoon tea at the Peabody Hotel and watch in wonder at the March of the Peabody Ducks, before filling up on the finest barbecued food in Tennessee.

Vicksburg

Natchez

The town flourished during the antebellum era, with affluent planters erecting grand mansions such as Stanton Hall and Longwood, showcasing their wealth and influence.
Day 12
St. Francisville
St. Francisville, Louisiana, invites you on a journey through time, blending history with mystery and culinary delights. Led by an expert historian, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime exploration of pivotal Battle of Baton Rouge locations and the significance of Vicksburg in the Civil War. Visit Fort Desperate, witness interpretive demonstrations, and hold artifacts from the battles.
Day 13
Baton Rouge
Known for Cajun and Creole cuisine, this jazzy city is a melting pot of culture. Founded in 1699 by French explorers, its rich past is evident in its diverse architecture, from historic homes to modern skyscrapers. The Louisiana State Capitol stands as an architectural marvel, boasting the title of the tallest capitol building in the United States. Its distinctive Art Deco style and towering presence make it an iconic landmark of Louisiana's political and historical significance.
Day 14
Oak Alley
This iconic Southern estate is renowned for its oak-lined avenue, stretching majestically towards the Mississippi River. Built in the early 19th century, this Greek Revival mansion exudes charm with its grand architecture and lush gardens. Visitors are transported back in time as they explore the meticulously preserved interiors and learn about the land’s history, including its role in the sugar industry.
Day 15-17
New Orleans
Wave farewell to the American Cruise Lines as you say hello to New Orleans. Walk the narrow streets of the French Quarter admiring the French and Spanish influences, visit the charming antique shops and experience Cajun and Creole cooking at its best. Round off the whole trip in a music venue in the city known around the world for Mardi Gras!
Day 18
Homeward Bound
Enjoy your last few hours in New Orleans before leaving the city for your homebound flight.
