Arrive in New York City
Arrive in New York today, a city like no other for a three-night stay. See jaw-dropping attractions around every corner including the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and the bright and buzzing billboards of Times Square. For a memorable view of the iconic New York City skyline head to the ‘Top of the Rock’ atop of the Rockefeller Centre or the unique and interactive SUMMIT One Vanderbilt. For a more authentic New York experience stroll around the diverse neighbourhoods including Greenwich Village or West Village where many US television shows including ‘Friends’ were set.
New York City to Poughkeepsie, Hudson Valley
Board your Amtrak train service at New York Penn Station for the 90-minute journey to ‘New York City’s backyard’ to enjoy a four-night stay admiring the serene countryside and relaxing in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Take a short taxi ride to collect your car and then begin exploring the areas many delights including vineyards and distilleries and the hiking trails in the Catskill Mountains or walking over the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge across the beautiful Hudson River on the ‘Walkway over Hudson’. For foodies head to the Culinary Institute of America, a highly acclaimed cooking school where some of America’s top chefs trained. Dine in one of the four restaurants and eat food cooked by the current students. The area was also where President Franklin D. Roosevelt was born, and his grand home and estate are open for guided tours. A popular spot to visit when in the area is the charming town of Rhinebeck often voted one of America’s ‘most charming small towns’. Stroll around its cute downtown area lined with market stalls and popular coffee shops and Samuel’s Sweet shop owned by the actor Paul Rudd and see the vintage aircraft at Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
