Arrive in New York City
Arrive in New York City and spend the next three nights soaking up the myriad of delights that make up one of the world’s most exciting cities. Visit the iconic sights of the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Central Park. Shop until you drop in the famous stores of Tiffany’s and Bloomingdales or enjoy soaking up the delights of the city’s diverse neighbourhoods such as Greenwich Village, the Meatpacking District and Chinatown.

New York City to Saratoga Springs, 188 miles
Collect your car in downtown New York City and drive north following the Hudson River admiring its natural beauty, charming towns, and lush vineyards. Arrive in Saratoga Springs, renowned for its world-class horse racing. Things to do include visiting the Saratoga Racecourse and National Museum of Racing, shopping in the vibrant downtown area boasting one-of-a-kind boutiques and restaurants, hiking in the picturesque state parks, and relaxing in its many natural spring spas.

Saratoga Springs to Lake Placid, 106 miles
Continue north to Lake Placid via the beautiful town of Lake George, if you have time take a steamboat cruise along its clear blue waters and past its wild shorelines. Drive through Upstate New York to the village of Lake Placid, located in the Adirondack Mountains. Spanning over six million acres and over 100 mountain peaks, waterfalls, pristine forests, lakes, and rivers, it’s one of the most jaw dropping areas in the state. From swimming, boating, fishing, golf and hiking in the summer, outdoor pursuits are in abundance. Lake Placid also hosted the Winter Olympics twice and the venues used along with a museum offer an interesting visit.

Lake Placid to Kingston, 195 miles
Leave New York state for a short while as we head to Canada and Kingston, Ontario for an overnight stay. Located on Lake Ontario, Kingston is also the gateway to the Thousand Islands region, and we recommend taking a cruise through the sparkling lakes, rivers and past its picturesque coastline.

Kingston to Toronto, 163 miles
Drive along Lake Ontario to Canada’s largest city Toronto and experience its wonderful views from the CN Tower, stroll around its colourful and diverse neighbourhoods, or walk along it's attractive waterfront complete with sandy beaches. Watch the Toronto Blues Jays play baseball in the striking Rogers Centre and shop until you drop at the Eaton Centre, home to over 230 shops and a wide choice of eateries.

Toronto to Niagara Falls, 83 miles
Take the short drive to Niagara Falls, through the pretty orchards and vineyards of the Niagara Peninsula to one of Canada’s most popular attractions Niagara Falls. Get up close to the thundering waters of Horseshoe Falls on a thrilling boat cruise or take to the skies on a helicopter flight or see the incredible views of the falls from the revolving restaurant in the Skylon Tower.

Niagara Falls to Ithaca, 178 miles
Drive back in to the USA, stopping for photos at Bridal Veil and American Falls which form two out of three of the waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls. Travel via the city of Buffalo to visit the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site where the president was sworn into office and to taste its legendary buffalo wings! Continue to the town of Ithaca, surrounded by over 150 beautiful waterfalls which offers an excellent base to explore the stunning Fingers Lakes region. Made up of 11 narrow lakes, rolling hills and over 100 wineries, it’s the state’s best wine growing region and offers serene beauty. Take a cruise on one of lakes, hike or cycle one of the trails at nearby Watkins Glen State Park and explore this area packed full of natural beauty.

Homeward Bound
Drive back to New York City, JFK Airport through the scenic Catskill Mountains, stopping enroute at The Museum at Bethel Woods to discover the history of the Woodstock Festival before you catch your overnight flight back to the UK.
