Arrive in Detroit
Upon arrival in the “Motor City” of Detroit, make your way to your hotel, your home for the next two nights, where you can spend your days at a museum or on the lake, there’s plenty of things to do. At the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, visitors can take a step back in time and gain a first-hand look at the home of the Model T car. Another must see for music fans is Hitsville U.S.A, the original house where Barry Gordy lived and recorded Motown hits with legendary stars including Stevie Wonder, The Supremes and Aretha Franklin. Downtown Detroit has a plethora of dining opportunities to savour, ample shopping and unique architecture including The Guardian Building and the Fox Theatre.
Detroit to Toronto, 236 miles
After collecting your rental car, you will cross the Canadian border into Ontario and the capital city of Toronto. Toronto sits on the shores of Lake Ontario, the most eastern of the Great Lakes. Home to a variety of attractions - from museums and galleries to the famous CN Tower, Toronto has everything you would expect from a world class and multicultural city from excellent retail to fine dining. The sheer variety of adventures that await will make your visit here a memorable one.
Toronto to Niagara Falls, 81 miles
Just a ninety-minute drive from Toronto, the magnificent Niagara Falls awaits. With many attractions, dining and adventure, Niagara Falls offers a vast array of activities to suit everyone. Travel to the top of Skylon Tower for the best view of the area, and in the evening get a different view of the Falls with the nightly illumination and seasonal fireworks. For the ultimate treat, book to have dinner in the legendary Revolving Dining Room Restaurant and savour the fantastic scenery whilst relaxing over your meal.
Niagara Falls to Cleveland, 216 miles
En route to Cleveland, make a stop at Presque Isle State Park. This 3,200-acre sandy peninsula offers beautiful coastline views and scenic trail along Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie. A diverse and green city on the shores of Lake Erie, Cleveland has all the attractions and excitement needed for a fun-filled adventure. Located at the waterfront, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must visit when visiting Cleveland. Housing memorabilia from world-famous artists including the Beatles, Rolling Stones and interactive experiences where you can learn to play the guitar and piano, it’s great fun for all ages.
Cleveland to Chicago, 346 miles
After reaching your hotel, you will experience the magnificence of the Windy City. Stroll down Navy Pier or take an architectural boat tour on the Chicago River. Check out the incredible panoramas from 360 Chicago and shop till you drop on the Magnificent Mile. For the sports fan, no visit would be complete without taking in a Chicago Cubs baseball game at Wrigley Field. You will be amazed with the sheer number of things to do and see.
Chicago to Milwaukee, 92 miles
Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest city sits on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. Known as the ‘beer capital of America’, with many bars and microbreweries. Be sure to visit one of the many unique attractions such as the Miller Park, the Harley-Davidson Museum and Historic Third Ward which is home to art galleries housed in former warehouses, boutique shopping and unique dining. Outdoor activities include fishing, boating, hiking, and biking in Lakeshore State Park.
Milwaukee to Green Bay, 117 miles
Your drive today will take you to Green Bay, Wisconsin's oldest community. Green Bay is defined by its natural surroundings. Visit Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, a beautiful 535-acre urban wildlife refuge with miles of hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities. Railway buffs will be in seventh heaven when visiting the National Railroad Museum, containing locomotives, passenger rail cars and other artifacts. With a rich sporting heritage, for those with a passion for NFL football, a visit to the Green Bay Packer's Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field is a must.
Green Bay to Marquette, 178 miles
Marquette is the largest city in the Upper Peninsula of the State of Michigan and located on the shores of Lake Superior. With an abundance of outdoor recreation, take a hike up Sugarloaf Mountain for some of the best views of Lake Superior. With a hip craft beer and food scene, from fine dining to cafes and from breweries to bakeries, whatever your tastes are, you will find it!
Marquette to St Ignace, 159 miles
Experience some of Michigan's best exploring in the Upper Peninsula with St Ignace as your base. With great restaurants and cuisine plus scenic regional day trips, St. Ignace is your home and base for exploring the area. Start with a visit to Mackinac Island, which is a National Historic Landmark and nearly all of it is a protected state park. The ferry that operates from the mainland runs a seasonal schedule with reduced frequencies in the fall and winter. With its Victorian architecture and absence of the large hotel chains and island-wide ban on cars makes it feel like a throwback to a simpler era.
St. Ignace to Bay City, 188 miles
With tall ship sailing and river cruises, a walleye fishery beyond compare, and one of the best state parks in Michigan, tucked along Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay, it would be impossible to visit the city without some time spent on its freshwaters. With the calling of the Victorian architecture of Centre Avenue Historic District to the Bay Antique Centre, the charm of the area is undeniable.

After a relaxing breakfast and morning, it is time for your journey to the airport, return your rental car before leaving Detroit for your homebound flight.
